Dosirak is the Korean word for Lunchbox. For many years, Korean moms packed dosirak for their children's school lunches and also for their husbands.

Because dosirak has to be kept and eaten at room temperature, the items that work well in lunchboxes were limited. Sweet and Salty Soybeans (Kongjaban), Maple Glazed Anchovies (Myeolchi Bokkeum) and Jangjorim are some of my favorite dosirak banchans (side dishes). And of course, you cannot leave out Kimbap and Joomukbap when it comes to dosirak menu.
